Laura holds a Master of Arts in Chinese/English Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (1995), where she is has been the Dean of the Graduate School of Translation, Interpretation, and Language Education (since 2018), and Professor of Chinese/ English translation and interpretation (since 2000). She worked as in in-house translator, interpreter, and legal assistant for the Beijing Office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, and Flom in 1997 and 1998, and has maintained a full roster of public and private freelance clients since that time in the fields of law, medicine, computers, online technologies, mobile internet, venture capital, new energy, biology, human rights, and education.

Leire Carbonell-Agüero is an Assistant Professor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Leire brings with her over a decade of conference interpretation experience and has worked for a wide range of clients including major technology companies in Silicon Valley, public organizations, and private corporations. Her fields of specialization include business, law, political and diplomatic discourse, and information technology. Leire holds a Bachelor of Arts in Translation and Interpretation from the University of Alicante in Spain and a Master of Arts in Conference Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. She is an active member of the American Association of Language Specialists (TAALS) and of the American Translators Association (ATA).

Stephanie Cooper is a Visiting Professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She has 20 years of experience in translation and conference interpretation, and 10 years in localization management. She loves to share her passion for her career with her students at MIIS. Her clients include Silicon Valley Tech companies, major television networks and international organizations such as UNICEF and the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) at the United Nations. Laurence Corréard has worked as a professional translator and a conference interpreter for more than 20 years. She is regularly hired by international bodies like United Nations agencies and European Union bodies as well as the World Trade Organisation and mega events such as the Olympic games and World Expos (Lisbon and Baku). On the corporate market assignments include a broad range of subjects such as the insurance, pharmaceutical, wine industry, trade union, legal, automobile and cosmetics sectors, architecture, among others. She also works for diplomatic missions and has served the Portuguese and Swiss Foreign Office on several official visits.
Laurence is also a certified Executive Coach, member of the International Coach Federation. She holds a BA in Applied languages from the University of Sorbonne in Paris and an MA in conference interpretation from University of Minho/European Commission, Portugal and a Licentiate of European Integrated Studies in Management from Saint Andrew’s University, UK.

A resident of Jakarta, Indonesia, Tiya Diran has served as press officer to two First Ladies of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as a television reporter and newscaster, and a master of ceremonies for various domestic and international events. She has been honored to interpret for world leaders, including President and Michelle Obama, HE Kofi Annan, and HRH The Prince of Wales. In addition, her professional interpretation engagements span events at the World Bank, World Economic Forum East Asia, and multiple gatherings of world leaders, including G20 and G8 summits. Tiya’s impressive resume also includes substantial work in the private sector.
Andrea holds a Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Her work includes assignments with the U.S. Department of State, the German Parliament, several major German car manufacturers, as well as numerous other international clients. She has also worked on the interpretation team for four Olympic Games. Andrea has been teaching translation and interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies since 1994 and has been the Head of the German translation and interpretation program since 2010. She is a member of AIIC.
Ina holds a master’s degree in interpretation from Ewha Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation and taught interpretation-related subjects in two graduate schools in Seoul. After moving to the United States, she worked in three Olympic Games and the State Department as well as numerous Fortune 500 companies as interpreter/translator. In addition to conference and court interpreting, she has done a fair amount of technical translation thanks to her biochemistry degree. Her dream is to one day become a black belt in Taekwondo.
A resident of Hanoi, Vietnam, Doan Duc Luu brings more than three decades of interpretation experience to Tiller Language Services clients. He specializes in interpreting pharmaceutical, financial and economic content and has interpreted for multiple World Economic Forums, the Sustainable Urban Development Forum and the APEC Japan 2010 Ministerial Meeting on Food Security. Doan holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Hanoi Foreign Languages University and a Master of Arts in Population & Social Research from Mahidol University, Bangkok. He is also an active member of AIIC.

Ioram Melcer, originally a computer scientist, eventually a writer, translator, editor and linguist. BA in Computer Science, BA and MA in Linguistics. Extensive experience in literary translations with more than 100 literary works translated from Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Catalan, Gallego and English to Hebrew. An award-winning published author of seven literary works. 25+ years of writing for newspapers in Israel and in Uruguay, mostly in the cultural and literary fields. Currently completing a Phd in Linguistics, focusing on Brazilian Portuguese. Many years of commercial experience in the field of translation (technical, commercial, cultural and more).
Catrine holds an M.A. in Translation Studies from Uppsala University, Sweden. She specializes in the fields of legal, HR and corporate policies, education, and marketing. She has been a full-time translator since 2012. Furthermore, she has a long teaching background at university level and from the Swedish Armed Forces, where she was the head teacher for the Army’s English program. In her spare time, she charges her batteries spending time with, and riding her two horses.

Claudinei Nunes da Silva has been the trusted linguist of major UN specialized agencies, sports federations, global trade unions, and universities across the globe for over 15 years. He has interpreted for heads of state and government, cabinet ministers, human rights and environmental activists, CEOs, artists, athletes, and people from all walks of life in more than 40 countries. Claudinei Nunes da Silva holds a European Masters in Conference Interpreting (EMCI) from the University of Lisbon and a Master of Advanced Studies in Interpreter Training from the Faculté de traduction et d’interprétation of the University of Geneva.

Alexandre Ponomarev earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation from the Moscow State Linguistic University, and went on to obtain his Master of Arts in Conference Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. For over twenty five years, Alexandre has worked as a conference interpreter and translator for a broad range of high-profile events such as the G8, G20, and acted as Co-Chief Interpreter at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He also served as Chief Interpreter during the last four iterations of the Olympic Games and continues to work in this capacity for the IOC. His extensive list of clients includes the United Nations, UEFA, FIFA, and NATO. Between 2009 and 2011, Alexandre taught interpretation at the L’École de Traduction et d’Interprétation (ETI), University of Geneva.

She has also worked at nine editions of the Olympic Games. Her private clients range from small companies to Fortune 500 companies active in diverse areas, including medicine and medical equipment, environment, defense and military affairs, energy, high-tech, insurance, finance and banking. She graduated from SSLMIT (School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators) at the University of Trieste, Italy.
Mariarosa was born and raised in Italy, lived in Northern Europe and the US. She recently moved to Portugal and in her spare time she is now eagerly studying Continental Portuguese.

Maria Riera is a conference interpreter and translator based in Barcelona. She holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona, a BA in Translation from the Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) and an MA in Conference Interpretation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (California). She has translated and interpreted for government institutions and for the Catalan President, international organizations (including several United Nations agencies), art institutions (like the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art), philanthropic organizations (such as Engineers without Borders or the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation), private corporations and book publishers.
Rosmeilan graduated from the English Department of Padjadjaran University (Indonesia) in 2003, and has been working as a professional translator since 2007. Since completing coursework in legal translation in 2012, she has specialized in legal translation. Additionally, she focuses on finance, business, and marketing translations for global companies.

He holds a master of arts in conference interpretation from the University of Geneva/Switzerland, and has served as the chief interpreter for eight Olympic Games. His significant, global client roster includes multiple G7 and G8 Summits, as well as the United Nations. Bill was the Dean of the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation at the Monterey Institute for International Studies for 14 years, and a consultant with numerous graduate schools of Translation and Interpretation in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the U.S. Bill has trained interpreters for 50 years and is the author of The Training of Translators and Conference Interpreters.
